Meet the Green Impact Zone Staff

Anita Maltbia, Director

Anita Maltbia oversees the staff responsible for implementing and coordinating a number of different initiatives in the zone; working with neighborhood leadership to coordinate programs and outreach in the zone; building partnerships with a wide range of stakeholders; and fiscal and program monitoring, evaluation and reporting.

She brings to the position many years of management and community experience, including eight years as assistant city manager for the city of Kansas City, Mo. Her background in building effective relationships, designing and developing new programs and services, strategic planning, effective resource management, and effective communication will help her to work with the community to serve this distressed part of Kansas City.

Anita focuses on business development, infrastructure, energy and water.

 


Twana Hall-Scott, Assistant Director/Outreach Manager

Twana Hall-ScottTwana Hall-Scott is the assistant director and outreach manager for the Green Impact Zone. Twana will be responsible for facilitating the community outreach process to residents and businesses within the Green Impact Zone. She is a native of Kansas City who received a bachelor's degree in communications and public relations from UMKC.

Twana served as the director of INROADS Kansas City for 17 years, facilitating partnerships with area corporations that provide career-related internships, training and development for area youth. Her background includes staff development, workforce training and development, housing rehabilitation, residential real estate sales, community outreach, and public relations.

She focuses on business development, infrastructure, energy and water.

 


Shontrice Patillo, Administrative Office Coordinator

Shontrice PatilloShontrice Patillo, a Kansas City native, is the office administrator for the Green Impact Zone.

She is a Rockhurst University alumna with a degree in organizational leadership and minors in industrial relations and paralegal studies. Shontrice is currently enrolled in Park University completing her master's degree in public administration.

She has spent the past eight years in the nonprofit sector working for the Housing Authority of Kansas City, Missouri, where she worked in Human Resources and the Executive Office.

At the Housing Authority, Shontrice purposed to cultivate relationships with the residents of Public Housing, Section Eight participants, and employees of the Housing Authority.

She enjoys working with people and looks forward to the opportunity to assist in carrying out the vision of the Green Impact Zone, to develop a sustainable community; one that is economically, and socially stronger tomorrow than it is today.


Arletha ManLove, Lead Community Ombudsman

Arletha ManloveArletha Manlove, a Kansas City native, is the lead ombudsman for the zone.

She is a Park University alumna with a degree in human resources and management and plans to begin a graduate program in 2010.

She has spent the past 10 years in the nonprofit sector and has been an active volunteer for multiple community organizations since she was nine years old.

Arletha previously worked with Bridging The Gap, Inc. as a program manager of an outreach program, Five Green Things, and also worked with Keep Kansas City Beautiful as the program associate.

She works with the Ivanhoe Neighborhood Council and Neighborhood Housing Services. Her primary focus areas are employment and training, housing and zone-wide events.


Cokethea Hill, Community Ombudsman

Cokethea HillCokethea Hill, one of the new community ombudsmen, is a native of Kansas City. She is assigned to the Blue Hills Neighborhood Association and the Blue Hills Community Services.

Cokethea recently worked for the city of Kansas City's Neighborhood and Community Services Division on the New Tools Initiative.

She has a master's degree in counseling psychology from Avila University and is currently a third-year doctoral student at the University of Kansas, studying educational leadership and policy with a minor in public administration.

Cokethea works with the Blue Hills Neighborhood Association and Blue Hills Community Services. Her primary focus is on data and housing.


Jermaine Reed, Community Ombudsman

Jermaine ReedBorn and raised in Kansas City, Jermaine Reed received a Bachelor of Arts degree in general studies with an emphasis in communications, political science, and sociology from the University of Missouri.

At MU, he worked as a program coordinator of the Missouri Legislative Black Caucus Foundation Youth Leadership Program and worked with the MU Office of Academic Retention Services. Jermaine also hosted a popular teen-produced live radio show on radio station KPRS-FM called Generation Rap. Most recently, Jermaine worked for the District of Columbia in the Office of Public Education Facilities Modernization, where he was responsible for implementing, reviewing and analyzing financial reports.

He is very passionate about investing in our neighborhoods and communities, and is excited about this new position that will give him the opportunity to make a difference in the very community he grew up in.

Jermaine works with the Historic Manheim Park Association and the Swope Community Builders. His primary focus areas are public safety and youth programming.
